The Contacts tab of the Dashboard is where all of your user data lives. This tab allows you to view and filter your user data and edit individual contacts as you see fit.
If you would like to learn more about importing your contacts, check out our guide on Contact Import!
Viewing, Editing and Deleting Contacts
To search for a contact, simply type the user's name or email address in the search box and hit "enter." From there, you can click on the user row you are interested in to expand their profile.
Extending User Access
At times, you may want to extend or grant free access for a user on a case-by-case basis. This gives your users access to view a tier or subscription for free for a set time frame. To read more about free access rule limitations, click here.
Editing Contact Information
Once on the contact's profile, you can edit their email address, name, newsletter preferences, associated customer properties and payment activity.
To change a user's newsletters preferences, select the pencil icon to the right of "Newsletters." Please keep in mind, you will need to check that the user authorized you to make this update before you are able to select Update.
To issue refunds, resubmit receipts and/or manage an ongoing subscription, navigate to the Activity section. You can read more about managing user payments and subscriptions here: Issuing refunds, canceling an ongoing payment, and re-sending receipts.
When changing a Contact's email address, you'll have to select an email not currently in use.
Note: It is only possible edit information if the contact is only associated with your community.
The updated email selected must be unique. In some cases, audience members create payments on an account associated with the wrong email and have registered originally on the correct spelling of their email address. For cases likes this, where the new requested email has already been created, change the email on the old account with the +deleted suffix (ie new_email@test.com = new_email+deleted@test.com) and update the old email address as you would normally.
Deleting a Contact
To delete a contact, navigate to their contact profile, select the three vertical dots near their name and click "Delete 1 contact."
Filtering Your Contacts
Within the Contacts tab, you have the ability to filter and sort through your contacts based on custom properties, engagement, payment information (membership, total spent, etc.), signup information (date, location, etc.), and profile information (age, gender, newsletters, etc.) Multiple filters can even be applied at once!
For example, if you are interested in isolating subscribers within a specific time period, such as the first 15 days of March 2023, you would be able to filter for Membership type = "Individual Subscriber" and Signup Date between "3/1/23 and 3/15/23."
Downloading Your Contact Data
In addition to searching for individual contacts and filtering, you can also download a CSV of all contact data.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
- Why am I receiving a message when trying to update a contact's email address?
- If your contact has their login associated with multiple creators and/or publishers that also use Pico, you cannot update their email address. However, the contact can do this on their own through their Gadget.
- How do I reset a contact's password?
- You cannot reset a contact's password, but you can log them out by navigating to the vertical three buttons to the right of their name on their contact profile and selecting "Log user out." For a contact to reset their password, they will want to do this directly through their Gadget widget. You can read more here: Logging in.
