Installing Stripe, Creating Product Blocks, and Viewing User Payment History

Earning Revenue Using Hype

Stripe is the payment processor used to earn revenue through Hype sites. Anytime a user makes a monetary transaction (ex.purchases a product, makes a donation, leaves a tip, etc) the payment must go through Stripe.

Setting up Stripe

To begin setting up Stripe:

  1. Navigate to “Settings” and select the “Integrations” tab.

  2. Under Stripe, click the “Install” button.

  3. Once in the Stripe integration page, fill out all necessary information including the currency and the support email address.

Please Note: Hype Customer Support must be contacted for any currency that is not USD.

  4. Once all of the details are correct, click “Install” in the upper right corner of the page.

Stripe Fees

Though Hype takes 5% of payments for Subscriptions and 2% of Donation Boxes, Stripe's standard fees on top of this are 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction.

How to Create Product Blocks

  1. Create a block for the Product, or Donation by navigating to the Page icon in dashboard.

  2. Under the Blocks tab, click the button on the bottom that says ”+ Add block”.

  3. From the blocks menu, select the monetization block.

  4. Select the product to be added to each block.

  5. Click ”Done” at the bottom of the page.

  6. Arrange the blocks in the order they should appear on the Hype page.

  7. Click ”Save changes” on the upper right hand side of the screen.

  • Please Note: Before any monetization tools can be added to a Hype Site, Stripe must first be connected to the account.

Viewing User Payment History

When a user makes a subscription purchase or a donation, this data will be stored in Stripe and will be visible in the Contacts section of the dashboard.

Clicking on an individual subscriber from the Contacts page will give an overview of the contact's Membership including the Type of subscriber, the Product(s) subscribed to, the date the subscription started, and the next billing date.
